All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

With two high tech start-ups going gangbusters, former cyber warrior Hank Rangar has finally “made” it. His lab, “Made By Man,” has revolutionized cardiac procedures, potentially saving millions of lives and billions of dollars. But, the most important person in his life is very sick and his technology is suddenly stolen. Hank discovers two things This lifesaving procedure may be the only way to save his sister AND Big Washington will stop at nothing to bury it.

“Pendulum of Justice reads like a book on anti-gravity impossible to put down! My main complaint is how come the next book in the series isn’t out already.”

Peter Cresswell

Don't miss Trails of Injustice the second book in the Hank Rangar series.

Pendulum of Justice Hank Rangar Thriller Book 1 edition by DK Halling Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

I was hooked at the first page of the prologue. Just into Chapter 1 and didn't want to put it down. It is sooooo good! Rangar...that's Ranger with an A. Excellent writting.....that might be the only thing that doesn't surprise me! A must read.
Finished! Better than I expected. I am a huge Clive Cussler fan from the Dirk Pitt series to the Oregon Files. Halling has created a fictional hero character in Hank Rangar that has captured my interest. He is smart, ethical, tough, human, romantic, intriguing and more. The storyline is timely with some believable Washington corruption, serious cronyism, and brutal retaliation...not to mention some romantic steam! I liked Rangar's thought provoking lines that gave me something to think about in today's world. I did some highlighting in my kindle. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

Pendulum of Justice Hank Rangar Thriller Book 1 edition by DK Halling Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

I must confess, techno-thrillers are not my normal read. I prefer Special Forces, Secret Service, Black Ops, that sort of thing. But I met the writing team of DK Halling one afternoon, sitting at a table in my restaurant, on a beach, just south of a little town called Mulege’ (moo-lah-hay) in Baja California. During our conversation, we shared an interest in writing, and I told them I would read their book…and so I did.
Initially, it took me a little time to get into the story…not the writers fault, but mine. As I said, I’m not a fan of techno-thrillers. I really don’t want to have to think too deeply when I read a story. By the time I got to the 50th page, I was deeply interested in the story, and was buying into the main character, Hank Rangar. I couldn’t put it down.
I found few errors, but nothing that took anything away from the story. I’ve read books by top shelf authors with more errors.
What I found interesting about the main character, Hank Rangar, was that he is not a former “Special Forces” operative. He is not a Kung-Fu or Karate expert. He’s just a guy that happens to be very intellectual…and uses his smarts to outsmart the bad guys. And he does such a good job of it.
After reading “Pendulum of Justice”, I have to say I was glad to see they had finished the second novel, “Trails of Injustice”. I ordered that one too. I couldn’t wait to see if the character developed further, and if the author’s style improved. Yes, on both counts. Both books are a great read.
Looking forward to a third installment…
From the first page, I was hooked. The protagonist, Hank Rangar, is someone that I feel a reader can identify with. The story begins with him desperately trying to help his sister, who is gravely ill, and the government's intrusion into places it clearly doesn't belong. The reader will feel the frustrations of the main characters, as they try desperately to bring a medical breakthrough to fruition. It highlights how very corrupt our political system is currently, and how innovators are held down by political back room deals.
The plot is fast paced, and will leave the reader wanting more. An involuntary, "Aaahhhhhhhh!", escaped my lips as I read the last line, realizing that it was not a conclusion, but a teaser for the next novel. The excerpt from the second 'Hank Rangar' novel will whet your appetite, leaving you hungry for more. Kudos to the writers, and I wish them much success in their future endeavors!
Pendulum of Justice is a fast paced, original story about entrepreneurs and how they benefit society versus how corrupt government agencies and officials, in collusion with corporate interests that they are beholden to, use the unbridled power of over-regulation to hand out favors and enrich themselves at the same time.

The hero, Hank Rangar (that's Ranger, but with an "a") is an inventor and serial entrepreneur working on new technology in the field of heart surgery. A corrupt, crony arrangement between the patent office and a giant company is used to steal the invention.

The non-stop action involves a manhunt for Hank while he simultaneously seeks justice for himself and the many others who were devastated by the theft.

Hank uses his vast mental resources along with help from some good friends to give us a combination of computer genius/MacGyver/Jason Bourne action sequences to right the wrongs.

This book is hard to put down. The hero is a true good-guy, no serious flaws or gray areas. One of the best features of the book is the use of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and objectivist philosophy to show why and how much our government is out of control and how the hero's actions are ethical in seeking justice.

All the features of the story fit together very nicely so the philosophical elements are an organic part of the whole adventure.

I recommend this book enthusiastically!
This review is for the edition ebook.

Disclosure I was given my copy of this book by the author as a review copy.

A technological thriller, this is the story of how one man hoped to make a difference. What do you do when you have invented life-saving surgery that someone steals. How do you cope when the most important person in your life dies, because bureaucrats in government decide to help the thief?

I found this story particularly intriguing considering much of what is happening in United States government politics today. It is as much the story of "doing the right thing" as it is the story of government gone wrong. I love the persistence of the hero in this book, Hank Rangar. He never gives up, which would be so easy to do under the circumstances.

To be able a write a story of the latest or possible in the future technology and keep it in the modern age must be very difficult. The authors never state this technology is even plausible in today's world, but the reader is so drawn into the story that they might have difficulties separating fact from fiction.

If you enjoy modern technology fiction, this book fills that need nicely. It is fast paced, well written, and yet leaves enough to the readers imagination to hold their interest. I am looking forward to the next book by these authors.
